Paint by number // Art Bay

Painting Vault

Tap a number and peel the real painting, region by region, not a flat flood fill. 100 paintings, three paths. Each painting is worth 37.5, 75 or 131.25 points by path, +25% if flawless; wrong taps stack up.

Same subjects, three ways to paint

Scored like a whole Cipher Vault puzzle: every painting is worth 75 points, times ×0.5 on Easy, ×1 on Normal, ×1.75 on Hard. Lose no points for a +25% flawless bonus. Wrong taps in a row cost 1, then 2, then 3 (a correct fill resets it). Hard adds pinch-zoom and +10% for finishing under par. Your best score per sheet counts; Repaint costs a quarter of the sheet's points.

Instructions

  1. Pick a color. Tap a numbered chip at the bottom of the painting.
  2. Tap the shapes with that number. Each one peels away to show the real painting.
  3. Finished colors disappear from the palette, and the next color is picked for you.
  4. Zoom when you need to. Pinch or drag; on Hard use + and −. The corner button fits the whole picture.
  5. Score. A painting is worth 37.5 / 75 / 131.25 points on Easy / Normal / Hard, +25% with no wrong taps. Wrong taps in a row cost 1, then 2, then 3.
Full rules

What this is: a painting is hidden under numbered shapes. Pick a color, tap the matching shapes, and the real art peels through, not a flat flood fill.

How to paint: choose a color chip at the bottom; only that number paints while it is selected. Nearby taps snap to your color so thin lines do not block you. Finished colors gray out. Keep going until every region is peeled.

Paths:

  • Easy: flat art, about 12 colors, big shapes.
  • Normal: painterly art, 24 to 30 colors.
  • Hard: the Normal art cut into 30 to 40 colors, pinch-zoom, and a par time. Finish at or under par for +13.13.

Score: like a whole Cipher Vault puzzle, each painting is worth a fixed amount, whatever its size: 37.5 on Easy (×0.5), 75 on Normal (×1), 131.25 on Hard (×1.75). Finish without losing a point for +25% (top scores 46.88 / 93.75 / 164.06). Wrong taps stack: 1 point, then 2, then 3 for each miss in a row, until a correct fill resets the count; a sheet never goes below 0. Your best score on each sheet is what counts. Your total is the sum of your best scores, minus Repaint costs.

Repaint: start a sheet over, even a finished one, to chase a flawless run or beat par. It costs a quarter of the sheet's points (9.38 Easy, 18.75 Normal, 32.81 Hard; the sheet shows the cost before you confirm). Your best score stays on record, and a perfect repaint still earns its badges.

Saving: guest play needs no account and saves on this device; an accidental refresh keeps your peel. Sign in to keep one player name across Moon Vault, Cipher Vault and Art Bay. 10 Painting points = 1 Moon toward the other vaults.

Rules: family-friendly Mesa & Moon game, same house as Cipher, Moon, Nine and Tally Vault.
